How we translate Japandi to your staircase

The strength of a staircase in Japandi style lies in coherence: warm white, sand, wood as the base, oak and cedar, lime paint, linen and paper as the material palette and low furniture and emptiness, sliding panels as the recognisable signature. We design that coherence from the first sketch and guard it to the last screw.

The style lives on material and proportion: oak or cedar, lime paint, tatami-like textures, low furniture and plenty of emptiness. Light is soft and indirect; colours are those of wood, stone and paper.

We apply Japandi with craftsmanship: visible wood joints, shoji-like sliding panels, an onsen bathroom in cedar and stone. Art is understated: ceramics, a single canvas, an object by an artist.

Because design, execution and art are under one roof with us, the style stays pure: no compromises between architect, contractor and supplier, but one team that knows how Japandi works in a Dutch property.

What makes a staircase hotel standard

01

Structure as design

Floating, curved or closed: the structure determines the sculpture.

02

Balustrade as signature

Steel, brass, glass or upholstered, matched to the property.

03

Light on the treads

Lighting that shows the way and lets the stairs float in the evening.

04

Art over the full height

A work that appears differently on every floor.
