A spa at home is the ultimate luxury: a sauna under the roof, a hammam in the cellar, a pool in the garden. We design and build wellness areas with the technology of a hotel spa and the intimacy of home.

Wellness demands structural precision. Moisture, heat and chlorine place demands on waterproofing, ventilation and materials that do not occur in an ordinary renovation. Our team designs the climate installation, the vapour barriers and the drains before the first tile is laid, so the space lasts for decades.

We design the experience as a sequence: changing, showering, sweating, cooling, resting. A sauna in cedar or aspen, a hammam in tadelakt with a heated bench, a cold plunge or ice shower and a relaxation room with daylight and soft lighting. An indoor pool receives silent air handling and a floor that is not slippery when wet.

Renovating a wellness area in Maastricht

In Maastricht we mainly work in listed buildings, townhouses, urban villas and penthouses, in neighbourhoods such as Wyck, Jekerkwartier, Villapark, Sint Pieter and Céramique. Each typology places its own demands on a wellness area: height, daylight, pipework, structure and sometimes heritage rules. Our architects know the local frameworks and design within them without compromising the end result.

The atelier is located in The Hague, 150 min from Maastricht. A project director is on site daily, and after handover that same person remains your permanent contact for maintenance, warranty and new wishes.

01

Listed buildings and protected townscapes

Many properties fall under heritage protection or a protected townscape. Our architects take care of the permit, consultation with heritage committees and the restoration of historic detailing, combined with modern installations.

02

Historic city centre

Car-free centres and narrow streets require construction logistics to the hour: delivery windows, container placement and exemptions are planned in advance so the schedule holds.

03

International clients

Many clients here are international families who want to renovate immediately upon purchase. Our fixed completion date aligns with the key handover and the school year; we communicate in several languages.

04

Design and architectural tradition

In a city with a strong design tradition, clients expect architecture that participates. We design with respect for the context and with our own recognisable signature.

Hotel inspiration

The best hotel spas are dark, warm and quiet, with water as the only sound. We build that atmosphere in your cellar, outbuilding or garden.

Materials

  • Cedar, aspen and thermally modified wood
