A bedroom to hotel standard is not a room with a bed but a suite: sleeping, dressing and bathing in one flowing sequence, with silence, darkness and soft light as the most important materials.
We design the master suite as a route: from the hall an anteroom, then the sleeping zone with the bed as the resting point, behind it the dressing room and the bathroom. Doors disappear into walls, the floor continues and the sightline ends at a window or an artwork. This creates the experience of a good hotel: everything within reach, nothing in sight.
Acoustics and darkness are the invisible luxury. We insulate walls and floors, choose silent installations and combine blackout curtains with a second, sheer layer. The lighting plan has an evening setting with warm light at low height, a reading setting and a night setting that marks the way to the bathroom without waking anyone.

Renovating a bedroom in Bilthoven
In Bilthoven we mainly work in villas, country houses, bungalows and 1930s houses, in neighbourhoods such as Bilthoven-Noord, Soestdijkseweg, De Leijen, Bosch en Duin and De Bilt. Each typology places its own demands on a bedroom: height, daylight, pipework, structure and sometimes heritage rules. Our architects know the local frameworks and design within them without compromising the end result.
The atelier is located in The Hague, 60 min from Bilthoven. A project director is on site daily, and after handover that same person remains your permanent contact for maintenance, warranty and new wishes.

01
Villa districts and aesthetics committees
In villa districts strict aesthetic frameworks apply to extensions, outbuildings and materials. We guide the entire permit process and design in harmony with the landscape.
02
Nature and greenery
Building near woodland, dunes or Natura 2000 areas requires careful surveys and permits. We take care of them and design extensions that respect the landscape.
Hotel inspiration
Suites in the best hotels are dark where they must be and light where they can be. We design your bedroom with the same discipline: comfort you do not see, but feel every night.
Materials
- Lime paint and fabric walls
- Wool, linen and mohair
- Oak or walnut floor, sometimes with carpet
- Leather and wood for the headboard
- Brushed brass and bronze

Yes, that is the essence of a master suite. We examine structure and pipework and design a route in which sleeping, dressing and bathing flow into each other.
With acoustic wall linings, floating floors, silent ventilation and layered textiles. In busy streets we also recommend acoustic glazing.
